Hey Dolls!
While checking out one of my fav beauty blogs, Princess Livia Beauty Blog, I ran across one of her recent posts where she attended the London V Festival. Here she watched MAC Senior Artist, Caroline Donnelly, create a look from a face chart she created.
I love a sexy dark eye and I LOVE a bright pink lip, so I was totally inspired to re-create this look!
Here’s the original face chart:
and here is the look created on her model:
The look was very matte. I initially used a NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean as a black base, but it creased on me a bit in the center of her lid. Everyone raves about these pencils, so its got to be me! Every time I use one it creases! I need to practice with them more… perhaps I’m using to much product. In the meantime, I’ll stick to MAC Paint Pots… they always work best for me!
Moving right along, over the pencil, I used MAC’s matte black shadow in Carbon… everyones staple. The look called for the smokey eye to go pretty high above the crease and no highlighter on the brow bone. I created a strong v in the outer crease area, which made the look very intense.
On to the lips! I used the limited edition “Candy Yum Yum” lipstick from the recent Quite Cute Collection, and it pulled this look together. Since it was such a strong eye and lip, no blush or highlighter was used.
As much as I loved the look, I couldn’t help but to spice it up a bit and add some sparkle! I pulled out my limited edition “Later” pigment from last years Alice and Olivia Collection, which is a super dark blue black with loads of sparkle, and swept it over the lid.
I hate that this picture doesn’t pick up the sparkle, so you can’t get the full effect, but trust me, her eyes were blinging! Since the lipstick I used was matte, I had to glam it up a bit. I simply used MAC Lip Glass in “Clear”, and dotted on “Reflects Pearl” glitter pigment to make her lips sparkle.
Faces STAY BEAT roun’ these parts… even if we have no where to go! LOL
Lata Lovah’s!
